There is some torture and every now and then a bloody fight scene too though. There is a lot of violence but most of the time it's not graphic, and even the more brutal battles are usually done with using very little blood. In season 1 the line between good and evil is quite clear, though the heroes have to face a few tough decisions. It has some really well written episodes and the actors can give really powerful performances.
